Pearl: A good ship with a good crew minus corporate decisions (Lengthy Review)
"
After spending a bit of time meandering about the ship after catching some sun, including a visit to the bridge viewing room on Deck 11 forward, it was time to get ready for a co*cktail party and dinner.Day 3 – Arrival to BermudaAfter a leisurely breakfast in the same restaurant with incredible service, we went to meet up with some of the other group guests and watch the ship tie up in Bermuda.

Found a great deal on ncl. decided to give it a shot. you get what you pay for. Positives: great stateroom with balcony. could not have asked for better. great experiences getting on and off at each port. seamless. ship was spotless. negatives: food was quite poor. very disappointed. will not cruise ncl again because of this. Even upgraded restaurants were average. ship was updated a

Firstly most of the staff on board were fantastic HOWEVER So disappointed with so many things. Firstly I echo what others have said about the food - the quality in the complimentary restaurants on occasions was so poor we sent it back. Buffet breakfast and lunch was fine. If you’ve already booked buy a dining package as these restaurants were much better. We booked a sea view ( not balcony) we

Our suite was fine. Boarding and port disembarkation were outstanding. Crew was mostly very good and friendly. However, the cruise line has gone downhill. Soups, other than specialty restaurants are water. Rolls were rocks. Ice cream tasted like milky ice, couldn’t detect any vanilla flavoring. The Whiskey Bar staff was rude. One guy told me I couldn’t get a cosmo there, but I did the day before.

Pre-boarding: We flew into JFK late on the 21st, stayed in a hotel nearby for some sleep before arriving at the Marriott Marquis on the 22nd, which we booked through our NCL agent at a good rate, taxes included. The hotel itself was great, nicely updated and the Times Square location is fantastic for travelling around NYC for the three nights we stayed. We stayed on the 41st floor facing Times

First TA but our 3rd time sailing on the Pearl ... we love the smaller fleet of NCL & sure love being in a suite. This sail we were in a 2-2 and for reasons we didn't expect ... sure was a perfect choice! Unfortunately while we were in NYC - I picked up a serious case of bronchitis & flu - although we have a million vaccinations - I still became really sick & needed the ship doctors! Wow - they

Overall the entire cruise on NCL was an OKAY experience. Nothing exciting or WOW or so horrible to rant on cruise critic. The entire experience was just a mid tier level experience which is not one would expect from a transatlantic cruise on NCL. However the good was that NCL made all the ports with no cancellations. That being said there were a few issues that was annoying on the trip. FOOD:

The Pearl is an old ship that doesn’t offer much in the way of amenities. We were on a 14 day Transatlantic cruise with a total of 6 sea days. You can only play so many group trivia games in the Atrium. The bowling alley was rarely open, because of the weather, the pickleball court or climbing wall was rarely available to use. This ship is only good for short Caribbean cruises where the need

The food is just awful, no other way to describe. Tbe rice in the buffet put a whole new level of Al dente. Buffet is tge worst, hard to believe any chef would put that stuff out. The chairs in the Stardust are worn out, you sink so low hard to get out. Our room was clean and the bed moderately comfortable. The decks could use some paint, rusted and paint chips on the floor. Crew in the

We sailed on the Pearl since it hosted a musical cruise we were interested in. Our balcony cabin on the 9th deck was clean and the bed was comfortable but several maintenance issues were very apparent. We noticed torn wallpaper near where a coat hook had been installed and a light fixture looked liked it had been bounced around a bit and could have used a replacement with something that wasn’t

We chose this cruise because it was so inexpensive (our airfare was as much as the cruise); only going to places where walking distances or long bus rides to excursions. Husband uses a rollator for serious back issues. We tried to get spots on snorkeling at both Harvest Caye and Cozumel (HC was sold out on the first day NCL took reservations online. Cozumel was cancelled due to the weather;
