I remember finding out about you
Every day, my mind is all around you
Looking out from my lonely room, day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you

I remember holding you while you sleep
Every day, I feel the tears that you weep
Looking out of my lonely gloom, day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you

Looking out of my lonely room, day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you

I remember finding out about you
Every day, my mind is all around you
Looking out of my lonely gloom, day after day
Bring it home, baby, make it soon
I give my love to you

I had forgotten that George Harrison produced this song for Badfinger. Actually, I was mistaking it for a Beatles song when it got stuck in my head today. Leon Russell played the piano part in the studio version. He's from my hometown of Tulsa.

George Harrison also traded lead guitar parts with Peter Ham if I'm not mistaken.

Since I wrote the lyrics to this song back in 1971, (I was 17 yrs old at the time), Day After Day and sent it to a publishing company, they responded with a letter saying Peter Ham wants to use the lyrics to your song. I showed my father the letter at the time and he responded by saying: Don't waste your time sending this back, they just want money! I got so discouraged, I threw out the letter along with all of the songs I had wrote.

I had no proof that I had written the song and had to let it go. I remember my father saying what a fictitious name Peter Ham. They never mentioned Bad Finger as the Artists. At that time I didn't know who Peter Ham was, if they would have mentioned BadFinger, I would have signed the release form. I heard the song on the radio and knew all the words before they had sang.

Any feedback please email me at: ryarl@nyc.rr.com The meaning of the song was that someday I would meet this girl, who I call my wife Arlene.

Ray Schnoor Cell# 917-838-6140 my address at the time I wrote this song was: 138 Nevada St. Hicksville, NY 11801.

Badfinger didn't last long enough to make their full impact on the world. So sad.

It's about a guy who has a girlfriend or wife and he wants her to come back from I guess some type of trip or maybe something like the Army. This has to be Badfinger's signature song!

I can't believe how little credit Badfinger is getting on this site... geez people come on!

Badfinger is about great lyrics that stem from simplicity, not hidden messages. It sounds like kfe2 is right... Badfinger songs are really easy to read on the surface.

George Harrison produced this big hit by Badfinger. You can certainly hear his influence in the guitar solo. Once again another gem with tons of Beatles inspiration.

The song maybe implies that he met a girl who was like in plain sight or they had friends in common-"I remember fining out about you". And he is very attached to her,he wants her to come back and stay -"bring it home, make it soon"??It's a song about attachment to me.

Ave Grave Thee More Shallows So this has been.my favorite song of OTEP's since it came out in 2004, and I always thought it was a song about a child's narrative of suffering in an abusive Christian home. But now that I am revisiting the lyrics, I am seeing something totally new. This song could be gospel of John but from the perspective of Jesus. Jesus was NOT having a good time up to and during the crucifixion. Everyone in the known world at the time looked to him with fear, admiration or disgust and he was constantly being asked questions. He spoke in "verses, prophesies and curses". He had made an enemy of the state, and believed the world was increasingly wicked and fallen from grace, or that he was in the "mouth of madness".The spine of atlas is the structure that allows the titan to hold the world up. Jesus challenged the state and in doing so became a celebrated resistance figure. It also made him public enemy #1. All of this happened simply because he was doing his thing, not because of any agenda he had or strategy. And then he gets scourged (storm of thorns)There are some plot holes here but I think it's an interesting interpretation. Grand Theft Auto Insane Ian The way this song speaks to me🥺🥺when I sing it I feel like I relate Step Ministry Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; Fast Car Tracy Chapman "Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time. Holiday Bee Gees @[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
